I am a Research Data Scientist, highly motivated to find solutions to complex and ambiguous problems, often involving large, complex datasets.
At the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, I conducted research in cosmology and astrophysics with the broad goal of deepening our understanding of how large-scale structure in the Universe forms and evolves over time. This work has the potential to provide direct insights on the natures of dark matter and dark energy – two major components of the Universe, about which very little is conclusively known. As part of this work, I used data from a variety of large astronomical surveys (DES, DESI, SPT, and others), large computer simulations of the Universe, and advanced statistical methods (Bayesian statistics, topological data analysis, machine learning, etc.).
